GIOVANNI SPANO

Giovanni trained at Sylvia Young Theatre School and Laine Theatre Arts.

Giovanni has just finished playing Aladdin in Theatre Royal Windsor’s production of Aladdin. Prior to that he was the lead vocal in Bohemian Rhapsody on Tour (Spirit Productions). In 2012 he played Simon Zealotes in the Lloyd Webber National Tour of Jesus Christ Superstar (Really Useful/ AEG Arena Tour).

Other theatre credits include: Wonderful Town (Royal Exchange Manchester and National Tour); Cousin Kevin in Tommy (Frankfurt); Doody in Grease (Piccadilly Theatre); Pepper in Mamma Mia (Prince of Wales Theatre); Willard in Footloose (West End and National Tour); Goody in Fame (National Tour); Clarence In Whistle Down The Wind (Aldwych Theatre); Robin in Falstaff (The Royal Opera House); Tootles in Peter Pan (Royal Festival Hall); Jack and the Beanstalk (Kings Theatre Edinburgh – Qdos); Dick Whittington (New Theatre Cardiff – Qdos).

Television includes: Anthony Mundine in Holby City (BBC); Top 25 ABBA Hits (Magic TV); TOTP’S Christmas Special – MAMMA MIA (BBC); Footloose – THIS MORNING (ITV); Footloose – CHILDREN IN NEED (BBC). Giovanni also played DJ in the feature film Risky Business.

Original Cast recordings include: Whistle Down The Wind, Bugsy Malone and Peter Pan. He is also the lead singer in the rock band deVIence.

Giovanni appeared in The Royal Variety Performance this Autumn, performing in an excerpt from Dance ‘Til Dawn. He will be touring nationally in this brand new show, alongside Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace in the Spring and Summer next year.
